Capital Hill Conference.

The YWCA Northeastern Massachusetts was represented at a recent conference on Capitol Hill in Washington DC last week by Arelis Huertas, Director of Community Based Domestic and Sexual Violence Programs. Arelis spoke about how her staff reached out to 959 youth in Lawrence last year to discuss real life situations at home relating to domestic violence. Some of the situations are generational and the YW focuses on in-depth education. Please watch this short clip on the new Pilot Research Study Program through the Quality Improvement Center. This is the adult, child and survivor approach and all family members including the abuser, survivor and child will be involved.
