Early Learning Enrichment Program

At the YWCA, we are committed to empowering youth by providing opportunities for growth, learning, and exploration.

Our Early Learning Center (ELC) is a nurturing haven for over 100 children aged two months to 2.9 years old. Here, we provide an award-winning preschool program that has earned recognition from the U.S. Department of Education as a Center of Excellence. Our curriculum is deeply rooted in literacy, ensuring a robust educational foundation for your child.

Our Early Learning Enrichment Program is tailored to two age groups:

Infant and Toddler Program (1 month to 2.9 years)

We expose young children to enriching and skill-building activities with a strong emphasis on early literacy. Activities include weekly walks to the nearby Lawrence Public Library for story hours and storytelling. We also partner with Raising a Reader, providing take-home books for children and parents to enjoy together. Visits to Campagnone Common across the street help children enhance motor skills and follow directions through traditional games and outdoor activities. (Available in Lawrence ONLY)

Early Learning Center (ELC) (2.9 to 5 years)

Children in ELC enjoy a variety of enriching experiences, including weekly visits to the Lawrence Public Library and Campagnone Common. During the year, volunteers assist classroom teachers, providing additional support for story hours, art projects, and physical activities. Learn-to-Swim classes are available for all ELC children, following the American Red Cross curriculum, emphasizing skill-building, water safety, and physical activity.

At the YWCA, we are committed to empowering youth by providing opportunities for growth, learning, and exploration. Community-Engaged Learning

We believe in the power of community resources. That’s why we fully use nearby public libraries, parks, and play spaces to offer children a well-rounded, experiential program. Additionally, every child in our preschool program receives swimming and water safety lessons in our Olympic-size pool.

Accredited Excellence

Our program is licensed by the Massachusetts State Department of Early Education and Care and holds accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Financial considerations can be a concern, so subsidies are available for income-eligible families.
