Women’s Money Matters at the YWCA

Volunteer Coaches Needed!

“As part of our Economic Empowerment Program for women, we are pleased to partner with Women’s Money Matters to bring a unique, fun, life-changing workshop series to YWCA Fina House residents.

This program pairs a personal, volunteer coach with one of our residents. Every other week, coaches attend workshops with their participants, and together, they engage in an informative and useful program on money management. The series aims to build our residents’ financial literacy, confidence, and security through these instructional and enriching workshops.”

The Role of the Coach!

The coach’s role is to help her mentee stay on track with her financial goals and progress throughout the workshop series.  During off-weeks [when there is no workshop], coaches check in with their mentees by phone or in person.

Coaches are well cared for as all materials, training, and support are provided!  At the end of the series, a graduation is held where buddies receive completion certificates and coaches receive appreciation certificates!

What Does it Take to be a Coach?

* A willingness or desire to assist a woman looking to improve her life; no special financial skills are needed!

* A little compassion, patience, and good listening skills;

* About an hour twice a month to attend workshops with your mentee [add some travel time!];

* Time to check in with your mentee in between workshops in person or by phone;

* The ability to recognize how much your skills, enthusiasm, and energy will make a difference to your mentee!
